    Texas A&M College of Dentistry’s Student National Dental Association hosted Impressions Day on Saturday, Feb. 28. The annual event serves as an opportunity to introduce students interested in pursuing a career in dentistry to the college’s standards of academic excellence, research and community-centered care and service.

  • Dechow elected as an AAAS Fellow

    Dr. Paul C. Dechow, Regents professor emeritus in biomedical sciences at Texas A&M College of Dentistry, was recently elected a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He was one of 449 members named as a 2025 Honorary Fellow, the association stated in a press release issued last month.

  • Providing dental care in Denton

    Third- and fourth-year Texas A&M College of Dentistry dental students from the Student for the Light Society traveled to Denton on March 28 to provide dental extractions to patients at First Refuge Ministries' dental clinic. The clinic emphasized compassion and meeting urgent dental needs for those who often face significant barriers to care.

  • Showing their prowess

    Students and faculty represented Texas A&M College of Dentistry March 4 through March 7 at the annual Academy of Osseointegration Meeting in Washington, D.C.  The academy is a global dental implant organization of more than 5,000 members from 70 countries.

  • College of Dentistry’s dental hygiene students, faculty make an impact TDHA’s annual session

    Texas A&M College of Dentistry's dental hygiene faculty and students had a strong presence at this year's Texas Dental Hygienists' Annual Session held Feb. 27 through March 2 in San Marcos. Second-year dental hygiene students Olivia Weisskopf, Zoe Spataro and Brenda Hernandez Moctezuma presented their research poster titled "Behind Closed Mouths: Barriers to HPV Communication in Dentistry." First-year dental hygiene student Andrea Gonzales received a TDHA scholarship.

    Tatakis named head of periodontics 

    After a national search, Dr. Dimitris N. Tatakis is the new head of periodontics at Texas A&M College of Dentistry in Dallas. Dr. Deborah M.
