    Recruiting future dental professionals

    About 130 students attended a recent recruitment event at Texas A&M College of Dentistry. The dental college hosts tour days so predental students may tour the campus with dental students, learn about the admissions process and ask questions.

  • College of Dentistry maintains maxillofacial cone beam CT accreditation

    The Imaging Center at Texas A&M College of Dentistry in Dallas recently earned re-accreditation from the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission for maxillofacial cone beam computerized tomography operations. A maxillofacial CT scan takes a series of X-ray images of the teeth, jaw and surrounding structures and uses the images to reconstruct multiplanar and 3D views

    Ryan earns graduate research award

    Dr. Daniel Patrick Obelenis Ryan received the Clinical Graduate Student Research Award April 16 from Texas A&M College of Dentistry for his thesis research. Ryan, a periodontics student, studied the use of a non-incised minimally invasive flap procedure in conjunction with Emogain MI compared to traditional scaling and root planing.

  • Students place fourth in Dental Olympics

    Their days are usually spent learning oral anatomy. Still, Texas A&M College of Dentistry dental students took a break March 29 to compete with other dental students around the state in the annual Dental Olympics. They placed a disappointing fourth, failing for the second year to recapture their 2023, but having fun was the main objective.

  • Traveling for smiles

    Dental students traveled March 29 to participate in a community health event in the Reed Building in Burnet. Third-year students Youngju Oh, Reeks Darling, Alix Matthew and Jacob Ramos provided fillings and extractions under the supervision of Dr. Jon Williamson (pictured); he is a key part of Texas Mission of Mercy events during the year.

    Texas A&M College of Dentistry third-year dental students Max Sticker and Christine Gonzales participated in an informational health fair March 28 at Moorland Family YMCA in Oak Cliff. They were joined by two predental students from the University of Texas at Dallas.
