Liu elected to council
Dr. Sufang Liu, research assistant professor in biomedical sciences at Texas A&M College of Dentistry, was elected to Texas A&M University Council of Principal Investigators as the newest representative for the College of Dentistry.
Hennessy retires after 12 years
Texas A&M College of Dentistry bid goodbye this week to Dr. Bernard J. Hennessy, who retired after 12 years at the dental college. He was the leader of comprehensive dentistry for three years and joined the dental college in 2013 after a 27-year career in the U.S. Army Dental Corps.
Smiles we remember: Dr. Scott A. Ervin
Dr. Scott A. Ervin of Rockwall, 60, an alumnus of Texas A&M College of Dentistry when it was Baylor College of Dentistry and a part-time clinical instructor from 1992-2005, died May 3. He earned his dental degree in 1990 and owned a private practice in Terrell.
Recent dental grads awarded licenses at event
Recent dental graduates of Texas A&M University College of Dentistry gathered July 1 to receive their dental licenses at the 2025 Licensing Expo in Austin. Attendees reported that approximately 25-30 of the new graduates attended the event, which was optional. It was hosted by Texas State Board of Dental Examiners.
17 dental hygiene grads awarded licenses at event
Seventeen recent graduates of Texas A&M College of Dentistry's dental hygiene program gathered June 30 in Austin to receive licenses from the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners. Commonly referred to as Dental Hygiene Expo, the 2025 Licensing Expo event celebrated the final step for most dental hygiene graduates before they embark on their careers.
Doctoral student receives future faculty fellowship award
Ran Tao, a third-year doctoral student in biomedical sciences at Texas A&M College of Dentistry, recently received the Texas A&M Future Faculty Fellowship (F3) Award for 2025-26.
