Smarter Prescribing, Healthier Outcomes: Lecture Explores Antibiotic Stewardship in Dentistry
With the Centers for Disease Control estimating that more than 2.8 million antibiotic-resistant infections occur in the U.S. each year, more focus is given to antibiotic stewardship programs to promote smarter prescribing, optimize better patient outcomes and minimize the risk of antibiotic resistance. Texas A&M College of Dentistry in Dallas marks the end of its yearlong 120th anniversary, which will culminate with a Boots & Burs celebration Friday, Oct. 3, from 6-8 p.m. at Las Colinas Country Club in Irving. “Boots” is a nod to the dental college’s Texas roots, and a “bur” is a common dental instrument. One hundred thirty-five of Texas A&M College of Dentistry's new students donned white coats today, marking their entry into the clinical phase of dental education and assuming the responsibilities associated with patient care. Students place fourth in Dental Olympics
Their days are usually spent learning oral anatomy. Still, Texas A&M College of Dentistry dental students took a break March 29 to compete with other dental students around the state in the annual Dental Olympics. They placed a disappointing fourth, failing for the second year to recapture their 2023, but having fun was the main objective. Read More
