Texas A&M College of Dentistry hosted a staff awards ceremony Sept. 25 to honor several employees who not only work hard, but who also are dedicated to the school’s mission of providing academic excellence, trailblazing research and community-centered care and service. “Sometimes it is easy to forget how well offices and programs run until you lose someone…,” said Dr. Lily T. García named to Women in Business list
Dr. Lily T. García, dean of Texas A&M University College of Dentistry in Dallas, was celebrated Aug. 21 as one of Dallas Business Journal’s Women in Business honorees this year. García, who’s also a prosthodontist, was among 30 North Texas women chosen from more than 280 nominees. Read More

Drs. Erica and Fabricio Teixeira joined Texas A&M College of Dentistry in July in leadership roles. Erica Teixeira takes the leadership reins of comprehensive dentistry and Fabricio Teixeira is the dental college’s new head of endodontics. Read More
End of an era: Longtime library associate turns a page
Cheryl Howell had a plan when she started working as a library clerk at what's now Texas A&M College of Dentistry. “I was only going to be here for a little while, and then I was going to go back to get my bachelor's (degree) in nutrition,” she said. Luckily, Howell stayed. And after 44 years of cataloging, researching and providing either academic or emotional support - often both at the same time - to anyone who entered the library, "Ms. Cheryl" is closing this chapter and retiring today. The library associate who earned a President's Meritorious Service Award from the Texas A&M system in 2019 and is known for her warm smile won't be forgotten. Read More

Mallonee honored for her service
Professor Lisa Mallonee, associate dean for faculty affairs at Texas A&M College of Dentistry in Dallas, was honored recently with a Chair of the ADEA Board of Directors Citation for her service to the American Dental Education Association. Mallonee, dually registered as a dental hygienist and a dietitian, was one of 10 members recognized at the annual meeting in National Harbor, Maryland. Read More
Inspiring the next generation
The Community Outreach Office of Texas A&M College of Dentistry hosted the second session of the Future Dentist Summer Camp on July 26, welcoming 13 high school students from Dallas-Fort Worth. The session, led by Dr. Matthew Kesterke, assistant professor in orthodontics, focused on forensic dentistry. Read More
