Compassionate care in action

At Allan Saxe Dental Clinic of nonprofit Mission Arlington, fourth-year dental students of Texas A&M College of Dentistry in Dallas volunteered July 26 to provide free tooth extractions for underserved patients. Under the supervision of Dr. Dax Sinn, adjunct professor in public health sciences, students gained hands-on clinical experience while delivering essential care.

Dr. Hoda Abdellatif, community outreach director and clinical associate professor in public health sciences, also attended to meet with clinic founder Tillie Burgin to explore future collaborations, including potential Endodontic Days.

“This event was a lifeline for individuals in pain who otherwise couldn’t access care,” Sinn said. “Our students made a real difference.”

The clinic treated 1,310 patients and recorded 3,310 patient visits in 2024, Mission Arlington’s website stated.
