Dechow elected as an AAAS Fellow
Dr. Paul C. Dechow, Regents professor emeritus in biomedical sciences at Texas A&M College of Dentistry, was recently elected Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He was one of 449 members named as a 2025 Fellow, the association stated in a press release issued last month.
Election as a Fellow honors members whose efforts on behalf of “the advancement of science or its applications in service to society have distinguished them among their peers and colleagues,” the release stated. Dechow is a former associate dean for academic affairs and ran A&M Dentistry’s biomedical sciences department from 2012 to 2016. Dechow is known internationally for his work in anatomy, biological anthropology and craniofacial biology.
Dechow retired in 2021 after 35 years at A&M Dentistry.
