Doctoral student earns first place

Sanjaya Thapa, a doctoral student in biomedical sciences at Texas A&M College of Dentistry, won first place in the Bernard G. Sarnat Award competition at the International Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research (IADR) 103rd General Session this week in Barcelona, Spain. Thapa received $500.
Thapa is mentored by Dr. Xiaofang Wang, an associate professor of biomedical sciences at the dental college and vice president of IADR’s Craniofacial Biology Group.
This award recognizes original and outstanding research on craniofacial growth and development.
The award is supported by a $10,000 endowed donation from Sarnat to the group and by membership of the group, information provided by IADR stated.
