Dr. Sufang Liu, research assistant professor in biomedical sciences at Texas A&M College of Dentistry, was elected to Texas A&M University Council of Principal Investigators as the newest representative for the College of Dentistry.

The Council of Principal Investigators (CPI) is composed of Principal Investigators (PIs) that represent PIs from members of the Texas A&M research community.  The council works with “administration to provide an effective and efficient research organization to achieve the goal of being nationally recognized and competitive in research and teaching,” according to the council’s website.

“I will advocate for transparent and consistent communication between faculty and administration, support the development of interdisciplinary research collaborations across the Texas A&M University System, and work to ensure that the unique needs of faculty engaged in both clinical and basic science research are recognized and supported,” Liu stated in her application.

She added she will “serve as a voice for my colleagues and to help strengthen and connect the research environment within the College of Dentistry and the wider university community.”
