Compassionate care close to home

At Garland Free Dental and Medical Clinic, third- and fourth-year dental students of Texas A&M College of Dentistry volunteered Sept. 27, providing dental services to about 100 patients in need. From oral health education, prophy and extractions, students delivered care from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., under the supervision of Dr. Jonathan Clemetson, clinical faculty member in comprehensive dentistry.

This effort marks the beginning of a new initiative between the clinic and the dental college’s Community Outreach Office, aimed at expanding access to dental care in underserved areas of North Texas.
