Students and faculty represented Texas A&M College of Dentistry March 4 through March 7 at the annual Academy of Osseointegration Meeting in Washington, D.C. The academy is a global dental implant organization of more than 5,000 members from 70 countries.
Dr. Nikita Murarka, postgraduate prosthodontic resident, presented “Factors Influencing Success of Zygomatic Implants Placed in an Institutional Setting.” Murarka’s faculty mentors were Drs. Marianela Gonzalez, clinical associate professor and director of undergraduate oral surgery training in oral and maxillofacial surgery; Jacqueline Chow, clinical faculty; Matthew Kesterke, assistant professor in orthodontics; and Elias D. Kontogiorgos, clinical professor and director of the graduate prosthodontics program in comprehensive dentistry.

Third-year dental student Dylan Guzman presented “No Longer a Delusion, Occlusion is the Solution: Changing Lives with Accuracy in Jaw Records Elevates Confidence in Patients and Dental Providers.” Guzman’s faculty mentors are Drs. Amerian Sones, clinical associate professor in comprehensive dentistry, and Marco Bergamini, clinical assistant professor in comprehensive dentistry.
