College of Dentistry celebrates its 120th anniversary 

More than 100 faculty, staff, students and alumni in cowboy boots and finery gathered Oct. 3 to mark Texas A&M University College of Dentistry’s 120th anniversary with a Boots and Burs celebration. The name is a nod to the college’s Texas roots and recognition of the dental profession – a bur being a dental tool.  Proceeds from the event support expanding access to adult and pediatric dental care for underserved communities, scholarships and other initiatives. Dr. Lily T. García, dean of Texas A&M University College of Dentistry in Dallas, was celebrated Aug. 21 as one of Dallas Business Journal’s Women in Business honorees this year. García, who’s also a prosthodontist, was among 30 North Texas women chosen from more than 280 nominees.   Read More

Texas A&M College of Dentistry in Dallas marks the end of its yearlong 120th anniversary, which will culminate with a Boots & Burs celebration Friday, Oct. 3, from 6-8 p.m. at Las Colinas Country Club in Irving. “Boots” is a nod to the dental college’s Texas roots, and a “bur” is a common dental instrument. Dallas County Commissioners recognize College of Dentistry and other local dental providers

In honor of National Dentist Day on March 6, Dallas County Commissioner Elba Garcia (District 4), a dentist herself, led a resolution earlier this week to name the day National Dentist's Day in Dallas County. Dr. John K. Neubert

Neubert takes the leadership reins of biomedical sciences

Texas A&M College of Dentistry welcomed Dr. John K. Neubert Feb. 1 as the new department head of biomedical sciences. Neubert joined the dental college after more than 20 years on the University of Florida faculty, including several years as the director of predoctoral orthodontic education. Dean leads mission to Aggieland

Dr. Lily T. García, dean of Texas A&M College of Dentistry, led a team at the Texas Mission of Mercy's Brazos Valley free dental clinic this weekend in College Station. Students and faculty from the dental college in Dallas helped treat more than 700 patients and performed many of the 5,200 treatments during the two-day event. Read More
