Tooth & Turf brings friendly competition

The inaugural Tooth & Turf for Texas A&M College of Dentistry event launched Sept. 27, blending philanthropy and sportsmanship. Dental college classes competed in turf-based games, raising funds to support future outreach initiatives.

Proceeds raised will benefit local oral health programs. The amount raised was not immediately available.

Faculty members joined the event, both supporting and participating alongside students. Dr. Lily T. Garcia, the dean, attended the event.

Drs. Partha Mukherji, clinical assistant professor in comprehensive dentistry, and Alicia Spence, clinical assistant professor in comprehensive dentistry and director of recruitment and admissions, with Spence’s son, Jonah, 6, at Tooth & Turf.

Dr. Margaret McMillan, clinical assistant professor in comprehensive dentistry, and her dog, Zhiva.
