Leadership changes in comprehensive dentistry and DDS program
|

Acting Dean Dr. José Bermúdez recently announced leadership changes in Texas A&M College of Dentistry’s Department of Comprehensive Dentistry and Doctor of Dental Surgery programs.

Dr. Bernard Hennessy is serving as interim head of comprehensive dentistry. A diplomate of the American Board of General Dentistry, he brings to the table extensive administrative and leadership experience as a dentist with the U.S. Army. He is joined by Dr. Amp Miller as associate head of the department. Miller has been a College of Dentistry faculty member for almost 50 years, holding numerous leadership positions.

Former department head Dr. Mohsen Taleghani retired at the end of December. During his years of service with the college, he previously oversaw the merger of the Department of General Dentistry with the Department of Restorative Sciences.

Within the DDS program, Dr. Sarah Allen and Dr. Jennifer Barrington will serve as assistant dean for curriculum and assistant dean for clinical education, respectively, continuing their leadership in those important areas.
