Kang receives faculty educator development award
Dr. David Kang, assistant professor in oral and maxillofacial surgery, received a $120,000 award from the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Foundation. The Faculty Educator Development Award is intended to encourage surgeons to choose academic oral and maxillofacial surgery and remain in the field. He is the college’s first head and neck oncologic and microvascular reconstructive surgeon.
Kang, who joined the faculty at Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry in 2013 after completing a yearlong fellowship in head and neck oncologic surgery at the University of Michigan, will receive the award over a three-year period. The dental school also benefits: Each sponsoring institution receives a one-time, $10,000 award.
