Suzanne Verma, anaplastologist and assistant professor in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry, spoke to a national audience Feb. 13 regarding facial prosthetic reconstruction and accompanying planning for 3-D navigational surgery of the head and face.

Her presentation, in conjunction with a surgeon and an orthodontist from two other U.S. universities, was part of an oral health symposium and press briefing during the American Association for the Advancement of Science annual meeting in San Jose, Calif.

In all, the AAAS meeting featured more than 400 lectures by innovators in all areas of science and technology. Media interviews with Verma ranged from Finland radio and German news to British television and science magazine writers.

Coverage to date includes an AAAS news report on the symposium and stories on the Student Science online news site as well as the Wellesley College student newspaper.
