11th Annual Jesse T. Bullard Lectureship in Prosthodontics to feature Mayo Clinic speaker
Dr. Steven Eckert, program director for prosthodontics at the Mayo Graduate School and professor emeritus at the Mayo Medical School, will discuss issues related to the future of implant dentistry during the 11th Annual Jesse T. Bullard Lectureship in Prosthodontics and Implant Dentistry on April 18.
The Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry event will examine current considerations in implant dentistry, which has evolved since the 1980s with regard to treatment philosophies, materials and digital technologies.
Specific aims of the course include:
- learning how dental implants developed;
- understanding current interpretation of implant performance;
- providing an overview of complications in implant dentistry, including an understanding of peri-implantitis; and
- offering a knowledge base on the future of implant practice.
The conference, created by the Department of Restorative Sciences as a way to honor Dr. Jesse T. Bullard, features internationally known experts in the specialty. A professor emeritus, Bullard started the first fixed prosthodontics residency program at the dental school. Graduate prosthodontic alumni are encouraged to return to campus for the continuing education event, as are college faculty, staff, residents, students and oral health professionals.
