Celebrating fall together again

|

With a chill in the air and plenty of popcorn to go around, the Staff Advisory Council hosted Texas A&M College of Dentistry’s fall festival on Oct. 27 in the clinic building parking facility. Faculty, staff and students were invited to come enjoy some snacks, participate in several contests, show off their costumes, and raise money for charities of their choice.

Congratulations to the winners:

  • Pumpkin decorating – Tony Meadows, human resources staff member
  • Guess the pumpkin weight – Aglae McCoy, staff member in endodontics
  • Costume Contest – Crystal Malek, Carina Flores, Monica Maya-Perez, and Anabel Acosta, all staff members in diagnostic sciences

This was the first fall festival the College of Dentistry was able to hold in person since the COVID-19 pandemic began. Last year’s event occurred with social distancing; participants in the costume contest photographed themselves at home and entered the contest virtually.

“In the past we’ve had some of the elements that we incorporated into this festival,” says Rebecca Egbert, chair of the Staff Advisory Council. “We were bringing back the favorites.”

Egbert extends her thanks to the council for putting on the festival, as well as to everyone who came out in support.
