Commencement 2024: What you should know

On May 24, 103 dental students, 29 dental hygiene students and 45 graduate students will walk the stage at commencement. Ahead of the big day, here is some info for those who plan to attend!

When and where is commencement?

Commencement begins at 11 a.m. at Texas Trust CU Theatre, 1001 Texas Trust Way, Grand Prairie, Texas 75050. Families are expected to arrive around 10-10:30 a.m. The ceremony is expected to last about one hour and 15 minutes.

Parking

Parking costs $15 per car. There is no valet parking.

Are tickets required to enter?

Tickets are not required. We will be checking in students as they arrive, though.

Are guests allowed to take photos during commencement?

Photography is allowed during the ceremony, but flashes should be turned off. Families are not allowed to enter the staging area where students are lining up prior to the ceremony.

Will the ceremony be livestreamed?

Commencement will not be livestreamed, nor will there be a recording made to purchase later.

What is the venue’s bag and snack policy?

There is no bag policy for commencement. Food and drinks are not allowed in the auditorium. Metal detectors will be present at the front door.
