Dean reunites with classmates for 40th reunion
Did you know that Dr. Lily García is an alum of the dental school?
She and her classmates celebrated their 40th reunion Sept. 20, reuniting with friends, touring campus and swapping stories. The Class of 1984 has made a lasting impact on the field of dentistry, and they proudly honored García with a gift celebrating her accomplishments and position as dean of their beloved alma mater.
García said it was fun to see so many of her classmates and learn of their personal and professional success, yet surreal to be leading the tour as the dean.
“To reconnect and to see how well others have done makes me reflect on the fact that however tough it was to persevere through challenges, what we learn from our time as dental students sets us up for a lifetime of professional success,” she said. “It is incumbent on each of us to use the education.”
