Message from Dean García
A quick but genuine note of thanks! The past few weeks have been amazing, and I have enjoyed meeting with many colleagues, with many more meetings planned.
The timing was meant to be when I had the opportunity and privilege to spend time with the Class of 1970 during their 50th reunion within my first month here! Seventeen of the class of 100 graduates attended the reunion, which was held on campus. When meeting with them, each represented the heart and reason why this is a remarkable academic dental institution … a commitment to excellence in your profession and in your life. After the event, I connected with one of the class members, and he stated just how wonderful the time spent together had been and how much it meant to him and his classmates. This is a class of leaders locally and from around the country, including at least four past presidents of the Texas Dental Association. They offered to do what it takes to support our school.
Moving forward, we will continue to build the bonds that tie our history together and focus on our mission with the support of our graduates, both past and future.
Best regards,
Dr. Lily T. García, Dean, School of Dentistry
