With the goal of forging new connections and collaborations, Dr. Meigan Aronson, dean of the Texas A&M College of Science, and many of her faculty have begun visiting select sites in cities across the state. June 26 landed them in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Traveling in an oversized van and an SUV, the dean, 13 faculty members and two staff administrators made Texas A&M College of Dentistry the first stop of their 2 ½-day trek.

“Establishing a working relationship with the College of Science is really important to us,” said College of Dentistry Dean Lawrence Wolinsky, who along with 25 dental school faculty and staff members, welcomed the group to campus. “We’ve demonstrated through our collaborations with other A&M colleges that the distance between Dallas and College Station is not a barrier. This meeting lays the foundation for what I anticipate yielding productive collaborative opportunities.”

The visit included a dental school tour and an overview of the college presented by Regents Professor Dr. Larry Bellinger, associate dean of the Office of Research and Graduates Studies and the meeting’s coordinator. During lunch, Dr. Lynne Opperman, Regents Professor and interim head of biomedical sciences, moderated a series of research presentations by several College of Dentistry faculty members.
